No, this isn’t about that Alan Wake trademark that wasn’t actually a sequel. Instead, Remedy’s Alan Wake, which was removed from Steam due to music licenses expiring, has returned. It’s also available on GOG, and both storefronts offer 80 percent discounts on the game. Steam has event discounted the Collector’s Edition by 80 percent.
As per Remedy on Twitter, publisher Microsoft was able to renegotiate rights for Alan Wake’s licensed music. Nothing has been dropped from the soundtrack, so you can enjoy the surreal and atmospheric horror title in all of its original glory. With Halloween coming up, it’s the perfect time to indulge in some scares.
Remedy Entertainment isn’t working on a sequel, but it does have mind-bending action adventure title Control in development. Players control Jesse Faden as she battles mysterious supernatural forces within The Oldest House, the HQ for the Federal Bureau of Control. It’s out in 2019 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
Good news! Alan Wake is back on Steam.
Better news: the price will be discounted during Halloween, so go get your copy if you don’t own the game yet. (Other digital platforms to follow.) https://t.co/GRLdxcH361 pic.twitter.com/KUtdnQg6Hb

Big thanks to our partner and Alan Wake’s publishers @Microsoft who were able to renegotiate the rights to the licensed music in Alan Wake, so that the game can be sold again.
