Resident Evil Dash was the first idea for a sequel, not RE2

I really got to admit that Resident Evil Dash, is just not a very catchy game. But Capcom originally came up with an entirely new game for its sequel to Resident Evil — Biohazard Dash. This was an all-new title  and the premise of the game was set a few months after the destruction of the Spencer Estate. The game had Chris and Jill battling plant-like creatures around  the mansion and its surrounding grounds. Dash was originally planned in 1996 but however didn’t last too long, as Shinji Mikami soon scrapped the idea and begun work on the first build of Resident Evil 2.
