More footage of BioWare’s Anthem is emerging courtesy of EA’s Game Changers program. Thanks to Datto (known for his knowledge of Bungie’s Destiny franchise) and Arekkz Gaming, we get a closer look at the different activities available in Freeplay. This is Anthem’s catch-all term for exploring the world and completing activities separate from the story. Check out the footage below.
Freeplay consists of different World Events, and these could be something as simple as rescuing Sentinels that are under attack. Sometimes, you may come across threats like Titans and have to avoid their flaming attacks, since they cause your Javelin to overheat. It was also clarified during Arekkz’s video that the footage is still early alpha, so the world in the video may look more barren than it does in the game’s most current build.
Anthem is out on February 22nd for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Of course, the much-hyped VIP access demo goes live on January 25th, running till 27th, for pre-order holders and EA/Origin Access subscribers. Everyone will have their chance to try the demo on February 1st to 3rd though.
