It’s official – Bioware’s Anthem launches on February 22nd 2019 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. On top of this, the developer showcased the combat for the first time. Check it out below.

In Anthem, players will have four different Javelins to choose from. These can be customized to one’s needs but come with their own unique loadouts. For example, the Ranger is your default assault unit with decent mobility. There’s a heavy Javelin that can rain down mortar strikes and tank damage as well. A caster Javelin of sorts, Storm, was also showcased along with the speedier Interceptor.

It’s also worth noting that there won’t be any pay-to-win elements or loot boxes. Players will be able to obtain cosmetics and such (most likely as direct purchases) but there will be alternate colour schemes and paint jobs available for Javelins.

Bioware talked quite a bit about single-player story-telling would co-exist with Anthem’s co-op elements. They also showcased one of the missions, which features some exploration, free-flowing combat and cuts off at the end when the boss appears.
