There may not be an Assassin’s Creed game coming out in 2019, but that doesn’t mean the franchise is going to lay completely low for the year. As per new listings spotted on German retailer MediaMarkt’s website, an Assassin’s Creed Compilation may be in the pipeline.
The compilation is listed for the PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, with the release date being mentioned as March 29, 2019. No other details are mentioned, so we don’t know which Assassin’s Creed games will be included in this compilation (if the compilation even exists).
It’s best to take this with a pinch of salt, since there’s no knowing how credible this listing is, but it wouldn’t be completely outside the realms of possibility that Ubisoft packages remastered versions of older Assassin’s Creed titles for new systems. The Ezio Collection and the recent Assassin’s Creed Rogue remaster are evidence that they do like to do that, while next year, Assassin’s Creed 3 is getting remastered as well.
The question, then, is- what games are left to be remastered? Counting all the remasters mentioned above, every mainline Assassin’s Creed title other than the very first one will soon be playable in touched up form on the PS4 and the Xbox One (the Switch, not so much), so it should be interesting to see what Ubisoft does with a compilation- if one exists, that is.
