One of the new "world events" involves recruiting a cat to your raiding party.

Despite embracing the same open world action RPG approach as recent titles, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is making a number of changes. This includes the elimination of traditional side quests and instead having “world events” that players can spontaneously discover. One such world event includes a short quest to recruit a cat as a raider.

As seen in the tweet below by SixKeys, the quest sees Eivor meeting a cat named Nali. When the latter runs away, Eivor gives chase, eventually culminating in an offer to recruit it. Though the cats won’t actually take up arms and fight with you, they will keep crew members company and also eat any rats.

It’s an interesting twist and hopefully something that will make the world of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla feel more lively. The game is out on November 17th for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Google Stadia. Release dates for Xbox Series X and PS5 haven’t been announced but both versions are “coming soon”. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
