A new trailer for PlatinumGames’ trippy Astral Chain has been released, and though it’s in Japanese, there’s plenty of gameplay to see. On top of showcasing the setting, we also get a look at the combat and the various Legions that players can unleash in battle. Check it out below.
Taking place in a future cyberpunk setting, Astral Chain has you controlling a single character from a pair of twins. The world is in danger thanks to the Chimera, described as invaders from another dimension. As part of the Neuron, your job is to repel the Chimera with the help of various Legions. These act as familiars who can fight with you and unleash their own attacks.
For instance, you can summon the Beast Legion for quickly moving around, or the Arrow Legion for firing from long-range. Different Legions can be mixed into combat and even disconnected from your character to fight on their own. Of course, the Legions also come in handy during investigations when trying to find clues.
