Avalanche Studios starts next-gen development, possibly Just Cause 3

Great news?

Just Cause 2 is one of the best games of this generation, and it seems that the studio has finally started work on a next-gen version. Considering Just Cause 2 looked incredible on a PC, we just can’t wait to see what they will pull off here.

Here’s what Cristofer Sundberg, Founder of Avalanche Studios and original concept creator of Just Cause, tweeted.

You hear that, they’re going next-gen on your asses. What it means is that they are shipping out the old hardware they need to develop games and bringing in new ones. Is this an indirect confirmation of Sony and Microsoft’s consoles? Probably not, but one thing is for sure, it definitely cannot be PC since it is already next gen.

Either they have the dev kits for next-gen consoles or they are probably preemptively making games for target specs. Who knows? But this sounds pretty positive already. We also reported earlier that Just Cause 3 might be in development so a big announcement might be in the pipeline.
