Babylon’s Fall – Season 2 Extended to November 29th

The developer will use the extra time for its next update and also "re-evaluate the game’s future operating roadmap" based on player feedback.

babylons fall season 2

Season 2 of Babylon’s Fall, “The Light of Aaru”, is set to begin on May 31st and it promises a strong influx of new content. Fans will have plenty of time to get comfortable with it all especially since PlatinumGames and Square Enix have announced an extension to the season. It will now run until November 29th, 2022, lasting six months instead of the usual three months.

The development team said, “The seasons in Babylon’s Fall have been planned to run in cycles of around three months, but based on the feedback we have received from our players, we feel that we need a period to re-evaluate the game’s future operating roadmap.” It’s currently running the “final checks” on Season 2’s content.

The three additional months will be used to extend development on the next update. This means no new content or further updates (not including the smaller Ver. 1.2.1 update that will be released during Season 2). It’s worth noting that Season 2’s duration will still show as “Until August 29th, 2022” in-game despite the extension. This will be corrected later as per the developer.

Such an announcement isn’t surprising, especially given all of the backlash and the tepid response that Babylon’s Fall has received. Nevertheless, we’ll see if it can be salvaged so stay tuned in the coming months.
