The closed beta for Patch 7 of Baldur’s Gate 3 is delayed until later this week. According to Larian Studios, passive rolls in-game suddenly stopped working due to “one of the fixes” that the patch would introduce. It’s currently working on fixing the same and inviting more participants.
Patch 7 includes numerous improvements and new features, from dynamic split screen to new cinematics for evil playthroughs (and endings). It also adds more Legendary Actions to enemies in Honour Mode, implements multiple fixes for Origin characters, and even enables party banter in multiplayer if separate players control their own characters.
However, its biggest highlight is the modding toolkit. It allows players to create and edit various aspects of the game, from equipment, cosmetics and dice skins to races, classes and subclasses. The closed beta is primarily to test the toolkit and ensure it’s in working order, though Larian clarified that this delay wouldn’t affect the patch’s September launch.
Stay tuned for when the closed beta goes live. Baldur’s Gate 3 is available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
