Bloodmasque Released For iOS Devices

Watch yourself combat the vampire hoards.

Bloodmasque is the latest brainchild of Square Enix, and is now available on iOS devices through the Apple App Store. Bloodmasque is set in 19th century Paris, albeit in a timeline somewhat divergent from our own – In this world Vampires run rampant in society and you and your team are a human vestige of vampire hunters looking to rid the world of its vampire scourge. The game is RPG style, but borrows elements of action fighters such as Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat.

One of the more innovative aspects of Bloodmasque, is a feature that allows the player to take a picture of themselves with their iOS device camera, which is then scanned into the protagonist’s character model, essentially allowing the player to control a character with his or her own face. As if that weren’t enough, Bloodmasque also has a feature that lets you incorporate pictures of your friend’s faces to slap on the character models of your in-game teammates. This is pretty exciting stuff for the world of gaming, and it’s certainly a brilliant marketing move on Square Enix’s part. Who wouldn’t want to see themselves killing hoards of vampires with amazing agility and precision?

Bloodmasque is available for download in the Apple App Store for £4.99/€5.99.
