Borderlands 4 (4)

It’s official: Gearbox’s Borderlands 4 won’t cost $80, instead settling for the more modest $70 pricing of many current triple-A titles. However, that’s only for the Standard Edition. The Deluxe Edition costs $99.99, while the Super Deluxe Edition retails for $129.99.

The difference lies in the extra content players will get post-launch, with the Deluxe Edition including the Bounty Pack Bundle. This contains four new unique areas with new missions and bosses, four Vault Cards with challenges and rewards, four new vehicles (with cosmetics), and new Vault Hunter cosmetics. You can expect more “tightly-focused content” compared to a traditional story DLC, while the Vault Cards will function similarly to Borderlands 3.

The Super Deluxe Edition throws in the Vault Hunter Pack on top, which includes two Story Packs with new narrative content and side missions, two new map regions, and two new Vault Hunters to play with. You can expect new cosmetics for Vault Hunters and ECHO-4 alongside new gear and weapons. Of course, you also get the Ornate Order Pack with four additional Vault Hunter skins, heads, and bodies.

However, that’s not all, as Gearbox says there will be “plenty of free updates post-launch to incorporate community feedback and further balance the game.” That includes some “sizable free content drops we can’t talk about yet.”

Borderlands 4 launches on September 12th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. The Nintendo Switch 2 version is coming later (and potentially costs more). A livestream is scheduled for June 21st to debut a new story trailer and hands-on gameplay, so stay tuned for more updates.
