The latest update for Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer Featuring The Legend of Zelda is live, bringing achievements and co-op leaderboards. However, if you haven’t had a chance to experience the game, there’s a free demo available on the Nintendo eShop. Check it out here.

Alternatively, you can watch the accolades trailer below, which reveals some of the critical praise that Cadence of Hyrule has received. The gameplay itself takes the rhythmic hack and slash, dungeon crawling of Brace Yourself Games’ Crypt of the NecroDancer and combines it with the setting of The Legend of Zelda. Link and Zelda, each with their own moves, are playable, along with Cadence.

As a Zelda spin-off, it’s well worth trying. That said, a “true” Zelda game is out in September with The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. A remake of the Game Boy classic, Link’s Awakening features a cutesy art-style and heavily revamped graphics. It also has a tool for creating your own dungeons via Dampe the Grave-Keeper, which is a feature that provides different rewards. The remake is out on September 20th for Nintendo Switch.
