Call of Duty Black Ops 4

Treyarch’s closed beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be returning this weekend on PS4 and going live for the first time for Xbox One and PC players. Along with six multiplayer modes that include Domination, Kill Confirmed, and Search and Destroy, the developer announced a brand new mode: Heist. Check out the multiplayer beta preview below to see it in action.

Heist sees two teams of five players battling over a duffel bag with cash. The first team to obtain and deliver it to an extraction point wins. The mode offers limited lives, though players can be revived as they’re bleeding out (a mechanic that will also be seen in Blackout).

Health and ammo are also in short supply, though there are resupply points for both on the map. Everyone also has the same starting gear and pistol. To unlock other weapons, armour and even perks, you’ll need to earn cash and spend it as the match progresses.

Though the concept reminds us of Battlefield: Hardline’s Heist mode, the addition of purchasing perks and weapons throughout the round gives it an almost Counter-Strike: GO-like feel. We’ll find out how it plays when the beta goes live later today.
