Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Blackout

As revealed in recent rumours, Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will provide a more undead approach to its version of Battle Royale, namely Blackout. Game Informer’s coverage confirmed earlier that Blackout would support up to 80 players. It’s now been revealed that zombies will get in on the action as well, moving around the map as AI-controlled foes.

However, it’s noted that the zombies will factor into Blackout a little differently than in previous games. More information will be provided in the coming days, but the zombies will act as “both a pest and a boon” for players.

Right now, we don’t even know if zombies will be confined to certain portions of the map like the recent leaks indicated (UPDATE: As per this video by Game Informer, the zombies are going to be in specific sections of the map). Still, given that Blackout culls together elements from all games in the Black Ops series, it wouldn’t surprise us to see other regions have their own special twists.

The beta for Blackout kicks off on September 10th for PS4 and September 14th for Xbox One and PC. All players will have access to the beta on September 15th. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is out on October 12th.
