In a brand-new trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 highlighting the upcoming shooter’s campaign, developer Infinity Ward has also revealed that the title will feature critically acclaimed actor Mads Mikkelsen playing the role of its antagonist. The trailer, which you can check out below, sets up the general atmosphere that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is going for, with Price’s own mission in the midst of a global geopolitical conflict.

The trailer also does a great job showcasing the high-fidelity photorealistic visual style of the game, featuring plenty of characters with well-detailed faces that can precisely show just what any given character is feeling during the many stressful situations throughout the game. The conflict is all set to a remixed cover of C.R.E.A.M. by the Wu-Tang Clan.

While much of the trailer focuses on the protagonists, at the very end, we get to see Mikkelsen portraying his character ominously discussing “the things you’re going to see”.

While Mikkelsen hasn’t taken on too many video game roles throughout his career, his few appearances – namely in reprising the role of Le Chiffre for an Elusive Target in Hitman: World of Assassination, and Clifford Unger in 2019’s Death Stranding – have left many players praising his acting skills. Mikkelsen has also won several awards for a number of his other works, including Hannibal and The Promised Land, among many others.

As for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, the title is being developed for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2 on October 23rd. A retailer has indicated that the Switch 2 version won’t include a game card, and will instead only have a redeemable code that gives players access to the digital version of the shooter.

A trailer for Modern Warfare 4 last month gave us a look at some of its cast of characters, which includes Park and his squad mates Jae, Cho, and Moon. US Corporal Dunn will also play a role, and his personality was showcased when he dismissed Park’s choice of music, insisting that heavy metal would be preferable to the songs of Wu-Tang Clan.

Those interested in the multiplayer aspects of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 can check out the game mode’s showcase trailer from last month, which gave us a look at classic Call of Duty gameplay staples like Kill Streaks and perks. The trailer also dedicated some time to the new Kill Block mode, which will make its debut with Modern Warfare 4, allowing players a variety of different objectives and map types thanks to the variable nature of the mode. Ground War is also returning for those who want to mix up infantry battles with some heavy vehicles.

At launch, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will have 12 maps focused on 6v6 battles, and the Kill Block and Ground War game modes alongside franchise regulars like Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, and Dominion. More content is planned as part of what is likely to be a thorough post-launch support roadmap.
