The Witcher 4 developer’s parent company CD Projekt has revealed through its recent financial report for 2024 that it made $260 million in revenue, resulting in almost $120 million in net profit. According to the report, these revenue figures would make 2024 the third-best year in its history.

CD Projekt CFOR Piotr Nielubowicz celebrated the revenue during the financial report with a video message, where he also pointed out that the profits came in despite the company not having released a single game in the time period. Check out the video message below.

“Our 2024 financial results are really strong: nearly 1 billion PLN in consolidated revenues and nearly 470 million PLN in net profit,” Nielubowicz (translation via provided captions). “This is the third highest profit line in the Company’s history – and the best result we have ever managed in a year which did not include any major releases.”

Elsewhere in the video, Nielubowicz also spoke about the highlights for CD Projekt from 2024. Leading the charge this time around was the unveiling of The Witcher 4 with a trailer during The Game Awards. Nielubowicz calls the reveal that Ciri will be the protagonist to be a special highlight.

“Much happened in 2024 – it was a busy year, but also a satisfying one,” he said. “Let’s begin with what I hope many of you have been waiting for: The Witcher 4 has moved on to full-scale production. The highlight of the year was the reveal of Ciri as the main protagonist of the upcoming trilogy. This took place in the form of a dark six-minute trailer unveiled at The Game Awards gala.”

When it comes to the money CD Projekt made in 2024, Cyberpunk 2077 was seemingly the main driver behind revenue. He also spoke about the accolades CD Projekt got for its post-launch support of Cyberpunk 2077 in the form of free updates and DLC release.

“In business terms, Cyberpunk continued as the main driving force of the past year,” Nielubowicz explained. “In late November we announced that cumulative sales of the game since its launch had topped 30 million copies, while the Phantom Liberty expansion had sold over 8 million units.”

“More awards also followed: we are particularly proud of the BAFTA Best Evolving Game award, presented in recognition of post-release support for Cyberpunk 2077. Still, we are not resting on our laurels, and we want even more gamers to visit Night City. This year we plan to release the game on Mac devices equipped with Apple Silicon hardware.”

Finally, Nielubowicz also spoke about how these latest earnings have allowed the company to increase its cash reserves, and in turn, how CD Projekt is able to stay independent in terms of both financial aspects, as well as its creative output.

“These resources enable us to remain independent in both financial and creative terms,” he said. “It’s clear that top-quality games with superb storylines can continue to attract gamers for many years. This is why we invest in new projects, going beyond the realm of video games, as well as in new technologies, which, in the coming years, will enable us to deliver excellent, memorable experiences to fans of our franchises.”

CD Projekt’s next major video game project is The Witcher 4. For more details about Ciri as the game’s protagonist, here’s what the voice actor for previous protagonist Geralt thinks about it. While it has entered full production, CD Projekt RED doesn’t believe that The Witcher 4 will come out before 2027.
