After the successes of Crash N.Sane Trilogy and Crash Teaming Racing, it was only a matter of time before a brand new game was coming for everyone’s favorite bandicoot, and this year we’re getting it with Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time. There’s still a lot we don’t know for sure about it, such as what the in-app purchases are all about or to what extent the game will have multiplayer. But we did get a good look at the game and its ode to classic Crash Bandicoot, with a dash of new features.
Via IGN, we got a look at a pirate-themed level for upcoming platformer. Unfortunately, we don’t get uninterrupted gameplay, but you can see some of the level, one of what is reportedly over 100. It looks about as close to that classic Crash feel as you can expect, though there’s a couple of new things.
One of those is a new box that spits out fire in multiple directions that you’ll have to be careful in hitting, a new golden wumpa fruit box, what appears to be a shark box that we don’t get to see used, and an anti-gravity suit. Crash also has a few new moves as he can hit an enemy and arc them into another foe, as well as sliding on a rope doing some fantastic moves. Check it out below.
Crash Bandicoot 4 is set to come October 2nd for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, though it’s been said that other platforms are being evaluated.
