9. Mark Cerny is selected as Lead Architect of the PlayStation 4
After Ken Kutaragi’s resignation in 2007, Sony were left without a visionary leader. But since Cerny was involved with the PlayStation 4 since the initial stages, he asked the big guys at Sony whether he can be the lead architect on the project. The rest as they say is history. When you know that you are being selected as the Lead Architect chosen to create a console that will define an entire gaming generation, it is in no way a small deal. Given the unanimous praise for the PS4 hardware, Cerny surely has done this important role justice.
