Square Enix-owned Tomb Raider and Marvel’s Avengers studio Crystal Dynamics has announced that it’s opened up a new development studio. Called Crystal Southwest, the studio is in Austin, Texas, and will, in the developer’s words, be “a major part of all current and future Crystal Dynamics titles.” Crystal Southwest is currently recruiting as well across a number of positions.

This is Crystal Dynamics’ third development studio in total. In addition to their main studio and this newest Austin team, they also have a studio in Bellevue, Washington called Crystal Northwest, which was established in 2018.

Crystal Dynamics is, of course, working on Marvel’s Avengers and updates, and a roadmap for additional content for the game throughout 2021 is also in place, including a Black Panther expansion. Meanwhile, things on the Tomb Raider front are more nebulous, but Crystal Dynamics does have a vision for where it wants to take the series in the future.
