CD Projekt RED has updated its previously vague roadmap for Cyberpunk 2077, pushing its free DLC, improvements and updates into 2022. Whether the “substantial expansions” are included in this delay or not remains to be seen. The company has already delayed the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S upgrade into next year along with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s.
Update 1.3 added some free DLC to the game with a new appearance for Johnny Silverhand, two free jackets and a new vehicle when it launched in August. In September, joint CEO Adam Kiciński confirmed that 160 developers were working on the first expansion. Like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s expansions, it won’t be free though a price point hasn’t been discussed till date.
Cyberpunk 2077 is currently available for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Google Stadia. It caused quite the controversy before release due to reports of crunch and then afterwards because of performance issues, an underwhelming open world and so on. Time will tell if 2022 is the game’s year of redemption so stay tuned.
