CD Projekt have seen a consistent growth since their inception, but that rise has become meteoric over the last few years, with 2015’s release of The Witcher 3 kicking off an impressive expansion. The Polish company was valued $1.6 billion in 2017, and that figure had risen to an impressive $6.8 billion by last month.
Now, within the space of just a month, they’ve seen even more growth, with their valuation now standing at over $8 billion (via Reddit). Combined with their distribution activities, the revenue they rake in from GOG.com, and the copies of the games they’re selling (and are expecting to sell soon with the launch of Cyberpunk 2077), their growth doesn’t come as too much of a surprise- though it’s incredible impressive nonetheless. In fact, CD Projekt have now become the second-biggest video game company in Europe, with French-based Ubisoft – who have a market valuation of over $9.5 billion – being the biggest.
Cyberpunk 2077 is due out for the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia on September 17. Nvidia recently confirmed GeForce Now support for the open world RPG.
Meanwhile, even as we get closer to the launch of CD Projekt RED’s next game, The Witcher 3 is still continuing to sell in droves, with its sales being boosted thanks to both, the Netflix series and the game’s Nintendo Switch launch.
