From Software has released a new batch of screenshots for Dark Souls 2, and new details by way of Siliconera confirm the return of the Covenants and how they’ll help you fight off Black Phantoms, which are usually controlled by other players.

Interestingly, if another Blue Covenant member is attacked, then a fellow member and Blue Sentinel will arrive to help them out. So yes, if you’re being attacked by one Black Phantom, you can have up to three members to fight back. If you’re the one doing the attacking, then the Brotherhood of Blood covenant will work much like the Darkwraith Covenant from the first game where you will be collecting blood from other PvP players.

You’ll also have Heirs to the Sun Covenant arriving at some points as Gold Phantoms to fight off enemies. If that weren’t enough, Bell Keepers will also be transported to the player’s world if it has a bell in it and they’ll work to defend the bell when you enter into player vs. player combat.

Sound good? Dark Souls 2 will release on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 on March 11th 2014 in North America and March 14th 2014 in Europe.
