Sony’s next big open world title, Days Gone has gone gold. Developer SIE Bend Studio announced the news recently, which means that all principle development is complete. The game will now enter the manufacturing and distribution stage (though you can expect a day one patch, like many of Sony’s past releases).
Days Gone is a post-apocalyptic title where zombies- er, “Freakers” have overrun the world. Players control Deacon St. John, a bounty hunter out to ply his trade while surviving. Armed with a motorcycle and some weaponry, Deacon will deal with swarms of Freakers at any given opportunity. Of course, there are humans and infected animals that pose significant threats as well.
Along with crafting better weapons and clearing out nests of the infected, players will also learn about Deacon’s past and the fate of his beloved Sarah. Days Gone is out on April 26th for PlayStation 4. In the meantime, check out SIE Bend Studio’s thoughts on a potential revival of Syphon Filter.
