Days Gone looks to be an excellent sandbox style zombie survival action game— however, thus far, we’ve been expecting its potential based on things we have been told, rather than getting to see those things for ourselves. This new demo should give the naysayers something to chew on, since it demonstrates how environmental factors like weather will alter and impact gameplay.
These things will significantly change how things play out for you- it sounds a lot like the survival oriented sandbox gameplay from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, leading to a more dynamic and emergent game than most open world games are.Given just how well received that game’s open world mechanics were, it’s good to see developers Sony Bend borrow from it.
