Dead Cells Fatal Falls DLC

Those who have yet to experience Motion Twin’s Dead Cells, and happen to have a Nintendo Switch, and subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online in the UK or Europe, rejoice. The rogue-lite 2D action title will be free to play in these regions from January 26th to February 1st. It’s unknown whether other regions will have a chance to play the game for free during this period.

The timing is pretty good because it allows new fans to try many of the big changes made recently. These include a revamped Malaise system that emphasizes speed as opposed to not taking any hits; changes to the color system for loot; and much more. The next paid DLC, Fatal Falls, will also be available during the free to play period.

This DLC adds two new biomes – Fractured Shrines and Undying Shores – as mid-game alternative paths. The former offers several floating isles and new enemy types while the latter is a harrowing journey across cliffs during the rain. A new boss is also being added to the Mausoleum – a gardener who doesn’t take kindly to players stomping on his plants. Dead Cells: Fatal Falls releases on January 26th for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Nintendo Switch.
