Escape Dead Island may have been a horrid experience for previous gen players but don’t let that dissuade you from trying out Dead Island 2 when it releases next year – especially because it’s being handled by Deep Silver as opposed to Techland’s work on the previous game. PS4 owners will receive exclusive beta access to the game in 2015 and now the developer has revealed on the official FAQ how that’s going to work.

If you head to the official site, you’ll be able to redeem a code for accessing the beta. This will remain exclusive to PS4 owners for 30 days. Sadly, it seems the only way to pick up a beta code is to buy Escape Dead Island.

PC and Xbox One players will access the beta a month after PS4 players and it’s expected that more details for the beta will be revealed this weekend at the PlayStation Experience so stay tuned for more information.
