Dambuster Studios’ Dead Island 2 is finally out this week after years in development, not counting all the years of limbo under other studios. A new launch trailer is available, which features zombies galore and extravagant ways to slay them. Check it out below.

Set in Los Angeles a decade after Dead Island: Riptide, the sequel focuses on the Slayers, a group of survivors struggling to survive in the zombie-infested city. In addition to weapons, firearms and modifications to make them more lethal, they’re also strangely immune to the zombie virus. It instead bestows Fury Mode, allowing them to tear zombies apart bare-handed.

Dead Island 2 launches for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5 and PC on April 21st. The developer estimates a playthrough with some side content takes roughly 20 hours, though three players can play together in co-op. You also have collectibles and side missions as an excuse to revisit locales. Stay tuned for more details en route to its release.
