Dead or Alive 6

Team Ninja’s Dead or Alive 6 made an appearance during Sony’s pre-Tokyo Game Show Lineup Tour show. Along with revealing a new trailer (which you can watch below) featuring some story elements and classic characters like Helena and Ayane, the developer also announced a release date of February 15th 2019. This currently seems to apply to Japan only though.

The trailer showcased tons of gameplay, including the various combos, environmental hazards or Danger Zones (including the classic dinosaur), and much more. If there was ever any doubt about how the quickness and vicious combat of Dead or Alive would translate to a new generation, this trailer should finally dispel all of it.

Dead or Alive 6 will be releasing for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. The traditional triangle system returns with counters and the like, along with new mechanics like special moves, the Break Blow for both parrying and knocking foes back, and Fatal Rush for activating different kinds of combos. This is in addition to multi-tiered stages with varying degrees of destructibility.
