Several months after showcasing the new trailer of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Hideo Kojima has confirmed that filming and recording with its cast has finished. On the latest episode of Hideo Kojima’s radio -Infinity- for NHK (translation via Automaton-Media), the director revealed that it’s now in the “adjustment phase”, which will take roughly a year.

This could place its release window sometime in the Summer/Fall of next year. Kojima didn’t clarify whether recording and filming for the English or Japanese cast (or both) had concluded. If the adjustment phase entails polish and bug fixes, perhaps we’ll see more extensive gameplay in the coming months. Maybe even a new trailer at Sony’s rumored PlayStation Showcase this month?

Death Stranding: On the Beach launches in 2025, exclusively for PS5. It takes place in a different continent from the first game, with protagonist Sam Bridges looking to establish the Chiral Network. As part of Drawbridge, players will have the Magellan as a new base. Head here for our analysis of the last trailer.
