Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding series is only one game old, with the sequel, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, launching in 2025. It may be difficult to remember everything that went down in the first game, but fortunately, director Hideo Kojima confirmed a recap option in the sequel.
The option is available from the main menu itself, though Kojima says it’s “very much temporary” (and how extensively it recaps the story remains to be seen). Nevertheless, it should suffice for new players starting with the sequel. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach sees the return of Sam “Porter” Bridges as he joins up with the DHV Magellan to connect regions outside of North America.
While familiar faces like Fragile and Heartman return, there are several newcomers, including Rainy, Tarman, Dollman, and Tomorrow. You can learn all about them here.
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is coming to PS5. There’s no concrete release date, but Kojima says it will be announced next year. Stay tuned for updates.
