Waiting for more information on a Hideo Kojima game can be akin to torture – just ask all the fans of Metal Gear Solid. Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding is pretty similar in that regard. It was revealed at E3 2016 and we’ve only seen cinematic trailers ever since.
Thankfully, we didn’t have to speculate whether it would be at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo. Sony went ahead and confirmed that Death Stranding would be one of four headlining games for its press conference.
Over on Twitter, Kojima seems to be fairly busy editing what seems to be a trailer for the game together. The attached images via his Twitter are teasing enough. However, it’s also interesting to read about Kojima’s experience with editing, going from an expensive uncompressed editing machine and operator about 25 years ago to editing 4K footage in real time at home.
Kojima also notes that editing is something that can be done alone without much stress. “It is refreshing and enjoyable to proceed with my own pace and sense. Only con is that I have to get used to the new machine.” We’re not sure the enormous Godzilla figure helps but it certainly looks cool.
As for Sony’s E3 2018 presser, it will take place on June 11th at 6 PM PST. Other games scheduled to headline the presser include Ghost of Tsushima, Spider-Man, and The Last of Us: Part 2.
When I 1st used the digital edit machine 25 yrs ago, the uncompressed wasn't affordable & took for hours just to wipe A to B role as temp render. Renting out the studio w/uncompressed edit machine & operator was the only choice. Today you can do real time edit 4K footage at home. pic.twitter.com/rqICqbMa6C
