Bungie’s Destiny 2 hasn’t been in the brightest spot since the launch of Shadowkeep last year. Season of the Worthy has come under fire for numerous issues and the company’s stance on sunsetting Legendary weapons and armor has also faced backlash. Nevertheless, it’s soldiering on and will have news on its next season in the coming weeks.

But that’s not all. In the latest This Week at Bungie, the developer confirmed that in 12 days (aka June 9th), it would also talk about “how Year 4 begins”. While Bungie didn’t outright say if this was a new expansion reveal, it stated that, “You’ll learn about the next Season of Destiny 2 at the same time that we talk about the next chapter in this story that has been unfolding all year long.”

Production director Justin Truman chimed in by talking about “staying transparent about our plans, and to this relationship we have with our community. The reasons we started on this journey 10 years ago haven’t changed. We’re committed to building a world anyone can be a part of, where everyone can feel powerful, and where you might reconnect with old friends or make some new ones.

“So we look forward to continuing this conversation, and continuing to evolve Destiny together. And in 12 days, we can’t wait to show you more of what we’ve been working on.”

In the meantime, Bungie does have a few positive things in the pipeline. Transmogrification is finally coming to the game, allowing players to change their appearance to whatever armor they’ve earned (through in-game effort or buy spending Silver). New armor will be available to earn each season with the Season 11 armor planned for Eververse being put into the game. Activities like Trials of Osiris, Dungeons and Raids will also have new vanity items in the future.

As always, we’ll need to wait for proper details Season 11 and Year 4 before jumping to any conclusions. Stay tuned in the coming weeks.
