Destiny 2 - Iron Banner - Fortress

Like many developers, Bungie is going on holiday as Destiny 2’s Season of the Seraph continues to roll on. However, post-New Year’s, Iron Banner will return on January 3rd, 2023, and introduce a new game mode called Fortress. No, not like Dwarf Fortress.

Like Zone Control, you’ll capture and hold zones while fending off any opponents. The twist in Fortress is that objectives will change due to Caiatl and her Cabal soldiers getting in on the action. Of course, Bungie won’t reveal exactly how the mode works, but it should be an interesting/terrifying experience.

Two Iron Banner weapons are available to earn – Dark Decider, a Legendary auto rifle, and Gunnora’s Axe, a Legendary slug shotgun. They both have new perks and the Iron Banner Origin Trait. Destiny 1 fans can also look forward to the return of the classic Iron Banner armor, including the wolf cloak for Hunters.

Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks. Destiny 2 is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC, with Season of the Seraph available until February 28th, 2023.
