Following a brief tease in the launch trailer, Bungie confirmed in its latest Developer Livestream that Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate’s raid would go live on July 19th. There will be a raid race with Contest Mode enabled, and completing the Legendary Campaign of the expansion is enough to get players up to Power.

However, in terms of gear, the sky’s the limit for the player. Contest Mode caps the player’s Power and usually features higher-Power enemies in later encounters. Alongside figuring out the mechanics of the raid, you also need to coordinate and flawlessly execute them without dying. Whether it will be as harsh and demanding as Salvation’s Edge in The Final Shape remains to be seen.

Those who complete it can look forward to an Epic version launching in September with the major update, Ash and Iron. In an interesting twist, it will “expand on the story of the raid,” serving as new content in the process.

Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate launches on July 15th, which means players will only have four days to prep for the raid. Stay tuned and check out the previous Developer Insights video for more details.
