Destiny 2 Forsaken Gambit

Prior to the launch of Destiny 2: Forsaken, Bungie released a free 24 hour trial for the PvEvP game mode Gambit. This weekend, players on Xbox One, PS4, and PC will get another shot at it. The developer has announced a free weekend for Gambit starting from September 21st, 10 AM PT/1 PM ET, running up until September 23rd, 10 AM PT/1 PM ET.

Gambit is a competitive match between two teams, but instead of fighting 4v4 directly, they’re placed in two separate instances with an enemy faction. Enemies drop Motes upon death, which can be collected and deposited. These will deploy blockers against the enemy team and earn progress towards a Primeval boss. Kill the Primeval and the round is won.

However, in an interesting twist, players can invade the other instance, killing opposing team members and slowing down their progress towards summoning a Primeval. It’s an interesting concept, and one of the bigger hooks in Forsaken (despite some weapons like Sleeper Simulant being problematic). Check out the trailer below to see it in action.
