Destiny 2 Season of the Risen

Bungie’s Destiny 2 has been hitting on all cylinders with regards to its narrative content lately. Following The Witch Queen’s shocking revelations, including the lore surrounding the Vow of the Disciple raid, a lot has happened. The developer isn’t slowing down in its next season either – senior narrative designer Dr. Hazel Monforton couldn’t “stress enough how good” it would be on Twitter.

“Y’all… I cannot stress enough how good the next season on Destiny 2 is. It’s phenomenal. @Sphynxian
and @THICCEST_YOSH (and me, a little bit) absolutely killed it. It’s fantastic. Y’all are gonna love it.” Monforton noted that Season 17 featured some of “the first things I wrote for Destiny 2. I was so nervous and had tremendous impostor syndrome. But the narrative team has made me feel so welcome and appreciated and I’m so proud of what we’ve made.”

While Bungie hasn’t announced the next Season’s theme, it has confirmed a new Rotator system for current and past raids and dungeons. Seasonal activities include the current raid and dungeon, which award Pinnacle loot for each encounter, while Weekly activities feature older activities like Garden of Salvation, Vault of Glass and so on. Even better is the fact that players can farm the old content for Legendary loot without any caps.

Season of the Risen is currently slated to end on May 24th so look out for any new details and announcements for Season 17 in the coming weeks.
