Destiny 2’s Season of the Risen is coming to a close on May 24th, which means Bungie should begin providing details on the next season. While it’s unknown when we’ll learn about the same, it seems the name may have been leaked. This is courtesy of Josh Hunt on Twitter, who discovered “Season of the Haunted” in the developer’s CMS.

Hunt had previously found Season of the Splicer’s name before it was officially announced so this may be credible. However, he has reasons to believe that Season of the Haunted isn’t the final name. “‘Haunted’ is very close to Festival of the Lost. Maybe it’s a fake lead? But then this is the same Bungie that can’t stop reusing Leviathan or had two Kintsugi references in the one season. Who knows.”

Season of the Haunted was also found internally when content was edited and isn’t the actual title of the public page. “It could just be an internal codename and not the real name of the season. Just sharing exactly what I know.” Again, time will tell so take things with a grain of salt for now.

Aside from Bungie’s senior narrative designer saying the next season will be “phenomenal,” the developer has outlined numerous new features and balance changes that are coming. A new Rotator system will cycle through old raids and dungeons, providing an incentive to replay them, while Glaives are getting some much needed buffs. Stay tuned for more details in the coming week.
