Near Useless Raid Drops

Bungie has also been struggling with a more serious issue concerning its raid weapons, namely that everything after Vault of Glass has ranged from “very good before the inevitable nerf” to “pretty useless”. Crota’s End sported some pretty good guns in the Black Hammer and Fang of Ir Yut but weapons like Word of Crota and Song of Ir Yut still paled in comparison to the Fatebringer and Corrective Measure. The Crota’s End Exotic weapon Necrochasm was also downright pathetic even if one didn’t compare it to the Vex Mythoclast. Let’s just not talk about House of Wolves’ Legendary elementals, shall we?

While King’s Fall brought a decent range of new raid weapons with their own unique looks, they’re still average overall even if you take into the bonus damage against Taken and ability to automatically reload when stowed away. Silence of A’arn isn’t all that better than the Next Big Thing or Conspiracy Theory-D, especially not in the Crucible (where everyone still runs around with Year One weapons). The Defiance of Yasmin could be useful for staggering Oryx but the Black Hammer and 1000 Yard Stare are more than enough. The only really good weapons seem to be the scout rifle and pulse rifle, and there are still far better alternatives to both. At this point, the raid seems best for obtaining gear to infuse your current equipment with.
