DOOM The Dark Ages

With reviews now live for DOOM: The Dark Ages, id Software has released the hotly-anticipated first-person shooter’s launch trailer. It showcases the Doom Slayer battling the forces of Hell, as expected, but offers a peak at several different weapons. Check it out below.

These include previously seen armaments like the Plasma SMG and Rocket Launcher, though others like the Grenade Launcher and Mace are also visible. Parrying attacks, retaliating with melee skills, and annihilating enemies with weapons make for a sumptuous combat loop.

And that’s before getting to the Atlan mech, which has its own explosive shell-like shotgun. One sequence also shows the Slayer shoving a bomb-like orb into a large demon’s mouth before kicking it into a pit with the mech.

DOOM: The Dark Ages launches on May 15th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Those who pre-purchased can start playing on May 13th. Check out our review here – we gave it a nine out of ten, praising the visuals, performance and combat.
