Dragon Age: The Veilguard Lets You Increase Companion Bonds by Completing Quests

Even if they disagree with how you handled a quest, your companions' bonds will still strengthen after completing quests together.

BioWare’s Dragon Age: The Veilguard outlined its companions recently, courtesy of a new video by IGN. After bonding with them, you can increase their levels and customize their Skills further. Not every decision goes down well with your party, and there’s an approval and disapproval system to keep track of this.

You’ll see it as a pop-up to reflect how your companions feel, but, as IGN notes, completing quests with companions will still increase their bonds. Yes, even if your decisions go against their wishes. Game director Corinne Busche said this approach is more about “how well you get to know them”, rather than “how much they like you.” It’s a great incentive to take certain companions along for quests, even if there’s a good chance they won’t approve of your actions.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard launches on October 31st for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Check out some more gameplay for the Duelist Specialization, how to upgrade equipment through The Caretaker’s Workshop, and the progression system for companions.
