In addition to four player Vault raids and a new map for Nuclear Winter, Fallout 76 will see private servers being added in the “near future”. Developer director Chris Mayer stated this in a recent round-table at QuakeCon. Project lead Jeff Gardiner further added, “They’re coming sooner than you think.”
Private servers were confirmed by Bethesda last year though whether mod support will be coming as well remains to be seen. Also, following the mess that Patch 11 caused Bethesda is looking into improving its current patch roll-out process. A public test server is one option that’s been discussed. “We are actively engaging in several measures to make sure that the builds that are delivered to you are the highest quality. Obviously, [a PTS] is one of them,” said Gardiner.
Fallout 76 will see its Vault raids starting on August 20th on a weekly rotation with players having the chance to earn “unique social rewards and armour recipes with a legendary set bonus” from their completion. Some additional quality of life features like display cases for loot in your C.A.M.P., improvements to event systems, and much more are also set for the coming months. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
