If you needed any more indication that Ubisoft’s Far Cry New Dawn is trying to steal the post-apocalyptic spotlight from RAGE 2, then this newest trailer might help. Showcasing the customization, namely the cosmetics and styles that players can rock, it mirrors the irreverent humour and fluorescent Mad Max(ish) colour scheme of the id Software/Avalanche Studios shooter. To be fair though, Far Cry New Dawn does have plenty of its own intriguing styles. You can unlock different cosmetic packs by pre-ordering different editions, but all pre-orders will receive the pinnacle of futuristic technology – the Unicorn Trike. It’s a three-wheeled bike designed to look like a unicorn. Yes, we’re serious.
Plenty of cosmetics and customization options, from clothes to weapon camos, will also be offered for free. It remains to be seen if Ubisoft pursues a weekly live event schedule to earn these cosmetics like it did for Far Cry 5. Far Cry New Dawn is out on February 15th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
