Final Fantasy 14’s Duty Support System Now Allows for Solo Dungeons for all Expansions

While players can now do all Final Fantasy 14 dungeons solo, they'll still need to find allies to take on the game's 8-player content.

Final Fantasy 14

With the release of patch 6.5 for Final Fantasy 14, almost the entire story of the game, starting from the opening quests in A Realm Reborn all the way to the latest content in Endwalker can now be played solo. As caught by VG247, the patch brings the game’s Duty Support system to dungeons from the Stormblood expansion, filling up the gap for a few dungeons that were left without the system so far.

However, despite the fact that the vast majority of the story can now be played solo, it is worth noting that the Duty Support system only features support for 4-player trials. This means that only early trials from Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn, namely the fights against Ifrit, Titan, Garuda, and Ultima Weapon, will feature AI party members. 8-player trials, which constitute the vast majority of the trials in the game, will still require players to queue up with other players for the epic boss fights.

The Duty Support system is an evolution of the Trust system that was originally introduced with the Shadowbringers expansion. Through the system, players can take on dungeons from the game with the help of AI-controlled party members.

Final Fantasy 14’s next major expansion, Dawntrail, is slated for launch in Summer 2024.
