Final Fantasy 15’s Next Major Appearance at Gamescom, Not E3

Square Enix to begin the next major phase of marketing in August.

Final Fantasy 15

Though it’s still likely to make an appearance, director Hajime Tabata has confirmed that Final Fantasy 15 will not have as major an appearance at this year’s E3. Instead, Taba revealed on the recent Active Time Report (via DualShockers) that the next major marketing campaign phase for the action RPG will begin at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany. The convention will take place on August 5th to 9th.

The reason for the game’s sort-of absence? The development team currently has a plan for what they want shown and the E3 happening in June isn’t enough time to prepare. We can only hope that whatever we see at Gamescom 2015 brings us closer to the game’s commercial release.

Final Fantasy 15 recently had a demo, which shipped with Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, and it gave players a taste of the combat and gameplay for the first time. Overall reception to Episode Duscae was positive though it obviously had its share of criticisms, including an unstable frame rate that didn’t even hit 30 FPS and a sub-par resolution. Stay tuned for more information on Final Fantasy 15 in the months leading up to Gamescom.
