Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth - Queen's Blood

Though the third and final instalment of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy has yet to be formally unveiled, its development team has revealed plenty of tidbits about it already, and during a recent panel at the Otakon convention in Washington, DC, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth director Naoki Hamaguchi revealed that the action RPG’s acclaimed fan-favourite CCG minigame Queen’s Blood will return in its sequel.

“Right now we are preparing a revamped, even better version of Queen’s Blood for the next title,” Hamaguchi said (via @Genki_JPN on Twitter).

Queen’s Blood was introduced in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and serves as a game-wide side activity. Players can collect a variety of different cards with varying effects, rarities, and more throughout the game in order to build new and improved decks, while a lengthy, optional questline surrounding Queen’s Blood is also available. What exactly Hamaguchi means when he says Rebirth’s sequel will feature a “revamped” and “better” version of the minigame remains to be seen, but fans will certainly have high expectations, given its popularity even in its current form.

Work on the final instalment in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy has been ongoing in some capacity since as far back as 2022, while earlier this year, producer Yoshinori Kitase seemed to suggest that the development team was targeting a 2027 release
