Square Enix has officially re-introduced Final Fantasy Versus XIII to the world at Sony’s E3 press conference, but in the process, they also officially announced Final Fantasy XV.

Yes, that’s right. The game is now officially called Final Fantasy XV and will be releasing for the PlayStation 4. Whether the game is exclusive or not remains to be announced.

A new gameplay trailer starts off with the hero Noctis wistfully looking outside a window, before the scene cuts to a mansion where he is seen fighting some kind of creature that attacks with watery tendrils. One of Noctis’s abilities is showcased: he can teleport to wherever he tosses his sword, effectively great distances in seconds. The entire building is being shredded as Noctis continues to do battle.

Other than that, this is a huge announcement. Will Final Fantasy XV stay exclusive? Or will it be multiplatform? Then again, this is nothing compared to the other big announcement.
