Gears 5 is “Looking Great,” Says Xbox Boss

Phil Spencer tweets a "spy shot" of the highly anticipated shooter.

The Coalition’s Gears 5 was announced at E3 2018, and though it’s slated to arrive later this year, there haven’t been heaps of details about it lately. Development is still going strong though. Xbox boss Phil Spencer recently visited the studio in Vancouver and managed to sneak a picture (if you can believe that) of the game’s status.

Of course, Spencer didn’t say much, except that the game is “looking great.” But it serves as a nice way to remind fans that Gears 5 still exists. Perhaps we’ll see more gameplay footage and a release date announcement at E3 2019. It would certainly help Spencer hyping up the Xbox presser to be as big “as we’ve ever been.”

Gears 5 shifts gears (no pun intended) and features Kait Diaz from Gears of War 4 as the protagonist, as she embarks. on an adventure with Marcus Fenix and Del Walker to discover her origins. Gears 5 will feature various stunning vistas like frozen tundras and lush green woods. It’s coming to Xbox One and Windows 10 PC.
