It’s crazy to think we’re just a couple of weeks away from the open world samurai epic, Ghost of Tsushima. It feels like we’ve been waiting ages for the game, and its promise of an epic story filled with powerful drama. But like any good drama, it needs some great music to go along with it, and you’ll get a chance to get that for yourself at the same time as the game.
As announced via the official PlayStation Twitter and blog, the soundtrack will release on the same date as the main game. They even give us a little bit of a sample as to what to expect. The soundtrack seems to be quite something, and was composed on an international level as the sound team went to various parts of Japan for certain instruments, as well as found authentic Buddhist chanting and even some Mongolian chants and instruments for more authenticity. You’ll be able to get the soundtrack from all major retailers and will be available both digitally and physically with a 2-disc set.
Ghost of Tsushima will release on July 17th, the same day as the soundtrack, with the review embargo lifting a few days before on the 14th.
