Ubisoft is celebrating the 25th anniversary of Ghost Recon with a much-needed update for Ghost Recon Wildlands, enabling 4K/60 FPS on current-gen consoles. But that’s only the beginning, as Last Rites adds a new story mission wherein the Ghosts must hunt down La Llorona, a new threat in Bolivia. Check out the launch trailer below.
The free update also adds tons of new customization options, including sleeve tattoos, helmets, backpack patches, paint jobs, and much more. Furthermore, the Predator mission, where the Ghosts take on the intergalactic hunter, has returned.
The update also brings several quality-of-life changes and improvements. For instance, Ghost Parameters are now available in other PvE modes. This means you can enable authentic reloading, friendly fire and a choice between one or two primary weapons. In addition to removing various UI elements, the glow on crates and throwable item previews can be turned off.
It’s also possible to change the time of day and set the weather, enabling the perfect conditions for a stealth op. Difficulty levels have also been changed to presets which can be tweaked, allowing you to modify enemy firepower and detection time (among other settings) on a granular basis.
There’s a lot more, and new players can play for free until August 10th with progression carrying over.
